I am looking for a dock side storage solution for our 2015 Outback. We need the yack to be easily moved from storage to the water by one person (nobody else around for solo trips and we are not spring chickens). This ("Docksider" by Dockcraft) looked like a simple and affordable means to accomplish what we need for the summer season. http://www.dockcraft.com/product-catego ... rage-rack/ I am concerned because of the recommendation that it be stored inverted and flat. Obviously that is the best but accomplishing that would require lifting the boat out and then rolling it over. Thats pretty tricky to do on a pier with 8 foot long sections and poles that are 3 feet wide. The Docksider seems to store the yack on an angle rather than straight on its side so although not ideal, I am hoping it might be ok. Mr. Miller, would this device be acceptable "as is" or if not, would the addition of cradling foam blocks to its' frame make it ok? Anyone else have any recommendations or DIY solutions? We can not just get in the water and go, our shore line bottom is pure muck with loads of leaches. Dockside launching is a must but lifting the yack up into the air to put it on a flat rack is also more than she can accomplish solo. |

We state a few different ways to store as acceptable. On the side is one way we approve. If the J hooks have webbing supports... all the better. |

Thanks Matt. From their pictures its not clear if the webbing is used to hold the yack or just harness it into the j hook. Its not really clear. In any case though I am glad to have the ok for its use. In terms of launching and storing it really fits the bill for what we need to do. Its going to make getting it in and out a breeze.
