This summer I'm going to make the leap and get a Hobie kayak. One of the Revo models seems like my best choice, but the issue for me is putting it in the water and taking it off. I'm in fair shape for a 71 YO, but I'll have to roll the yak over a sea wall to get it on and off the lake mostly by myself. The weight and length of the Revo 11 would make this task much easier. My question is whether my height would be better accommodated by a Revo 13. Any 6-foot plus kayakers using a Revo 11?

Regardless of which kayak you choose, get a kayak cart. Hauling around a kayak by a side handle like a suitcase is tough on your back. I put my Revolution on a cart even just to take it from my vehicle into my garage. Once your kayak is on a cart, moving it around on a firm surface on the level is effortless. Pulling it up a hill is more work, but a lot less work than carrying it up a hill. What kind of cart you should get depends on the kind of surface you will be rolling it over. For firm surfaces, a cart with bicycle-width tires will work fine. For dry sand or fine gravel, you'll need a cart with balloon tires. If you get a cart, a 13 or 15 foot kayak will be as easy to move as an 11 foot kayak, which will free you up to choose your kayak based on the kind of performance you want, and issues relating to transporting it on your vehicle and storing it.

Dont know if the seawall is on your property or not but I saw a post on this forum about a pvc roller for loading Kayak on the roof of a car and you could make that work for the seawall
Or a boat trailer roller would work to.

Getting the weight balanced with a Cart that mounts centrally so you are not holding up a lot of weight when hand-towing will make either boat much easier to haul.

Sorry I haven't used an 11 but I loved my Revo 13, it's one of Hobies super-sweet models.

I'm 6'2" I do have a 12 foot fishing kayak and I would not want it to be any smaller so if you can handle the extra 7Lbs I say go the 13.

If it's a sea wall that you can access easily and can walk to, how about an aluminum ladder with 2 long sections of 3" or 4" PVC pipe strapped or bolted to it to use as a slide track?

I had a similar problem and ended up putting in a cantilever jet ski lift beside our floating dock...works well for our new Revo 16. Just make sure you pull the Mirage drive before you bring the boat on to the hoist. We could drag the Revo up onto the plastic floating dock, but then still had to lift it up a couple more steps to get it on shore.

Also, maybe something from this company might work for you if you don't have a dock.
