traded in my 115 ride for a new outback and one thing I miss is the strap wilderness systems install on their yaks for assisting in standing...has anyone else installed one on an outback? I'm not sure where the strongest point would be on the front of the outback that might support such a venture...

Are you aware Hobie makes the H-Bar that will fit an Outback?

If you simply want a tie point, to attach a line forward, that you can use to help pull yourself up, how about using the sailing mast hole?
You could insert a PVC pipe with a pad eye on the end...attach a line/rope to it and then pull yourself "up".

You should be able to through-bolt a small pad eye to the foredeck ahead of the bow hatch. Or you can stick a broom stick in the mast receiver and call it a "steady stick" (shown here on an Oasis). You can lash it to the side when not in use. 8)

I was contemplating on doing something here soon - the challenge with any stand assist strap mounted forward is keeping the strap from getting tangled in the drive itself when not in use. Also you have to keep in mind any torque or stress you will be placing on the hull with any mounted fittings or pad eyes. I'm thinking of using the RAM Ball Wedge mount for the sailing mast most likely but am still unsure myself. I could then re-purpose an unused tie down strap or perhaps even a short 4' webbed/canvas dog leash.

RR, I really like the look of that 'steady stick' on the Oasis I had never thought of it myself but I bet you can get much higher top end speeds when flogging the mirage-drive slave from a standing position rather than sitting down.
