Have an older mirage drive (masts do not screw in) ,since turbo fins are same length as standard fins can I just switch them out? Is it worth the upgrade? |

Comfort and ST fins are the same length. Turbo Fins require a longer mast. |

Regarding your second question, I upgraded to the Turbos on my first boat and used them for several seasons. I'm on my third boat now and decided a season or two ago to drop back to the STs for regular use. Both Turbo and ST fins offer significant performance increases over the stock fins. Turbos = lower cadence for same speeds and a higher top speed. STs = decent compromise between stock fins and Turbos. Either upgrade is worth it, imo. The main reason dropped back to the STs because I was hitting too many underwater objects with the Turbos (sunken logs and rocks are common where I kayak), otherwise I would have stuck with the Turbos.
