Looking to purchase Ti my biggest concerns are. Had OB feel the TI will give me the opportunity to travel for longer distances. Wanting to Yak around the state of Florida. I always have to have a rod out if I am on the salt. Is it going to be to Big to handle from top of my SUV if by myself? How fishing friendly are the AI & TI's especially the TI when only 1 person on board. Is it best to be able to bring the pontoons in on 1 side when hooked up. |

Is it going to be to Big to handle from top of my SUV if by myself? Yes, get a trailer. How fishing friendly are the AI & TI's especially the TI when only 1 person on board. The ultimate fishing yak. Get the TI. Is it best to be able to bring the pontoons in on 1 side when hooked up. |

The TI and AI, are both very fishing friendly. I no longer use my ProAngler primarily due to the greater speed and range of the Islands. That can add a great deal to your fishing success. From the back seat I generally just lead the fish around the rear of one of the amas. But, if the sail is furled, you can safely fold one of the amas in if need be while landing your fish. |

For the longest time we only car topped our TI on our Gmc Yukon Denali with a T-bar hitch mount (highly recommended). We would strip everything out of the boat, then pick up half the boat at a time to lift it on the car (about 50 lbs). My opinion it is easier to get on and off the roof than our Oasis was (better hand holds). Getting the boat up and down wasn't the down side for us. The down side for us was the hour or so it always took to completely stuffing everything into the car, then breaking everything out and setup and ready. This is the main reason we finally caved in and bought a $140 dollar Harbor Freight trailer and modified it to suit our TI. From the trailer it only take around ten minutes to get ready and launch. My opinion is with a TI get a trailer, it makes life so much easier. Bob |
