Post subject: | Hobie Quest Pedals Disengage From Rails |
Have had my Hobie Quest for several months and use it a lot. Am generally pleased and would recommend it to others with one exception: The pedals frequently disengage from their tracks. Any advice from other Quest owners? ![]() |

You can add a second track (stacked) that seems to be the prefered fix. |

Thats what a couple of us on Florida forum did and the fix works like a charm. I used the same screws and didn't have to do any additional drilling or filing of the holes to stack the two rails together. Fit is tight but still allows you to remove pedal to adjust length without any problem. You can't even tell that you have a double rail on either side. |

Thanks for the advice. Did you get the rails directly from Hobie or the dealer? Were they are considered an accessory or were they a free upgrade? thanks again |

I asked Dealer to order them and Hobie shipped them to Dealer. I believe Hobie will ship them directly to you....it doesn't hurt to ask. Either way, one of them should be able to ship you a couple pretty quickly. If you registered your Quest with them, they should have your address handy. Good Luck. P. S. You can put rails on either side of cockpit. I put mine on outside but key objective is to shorten width of opening so pedal nubs will stay in tracks. |

Post subject: | Stainless strips |
I got two 12" X 1/2" strips of stainless from a hobby shop, cut them to 5 1/2" (4 pieces) drilled them out at points where the existing screws are and set them over the footpads. No more popping out. |
