Did not hit the kayak... the wave knocked them over. Quote: Sack said the two were lucky to avoid a direct hit from the animal's massive body, as it could have proven fatal.

Ya we have been talking about it. The hole group and guides did not fallow the rules of whale watching. If you are coming from the back You need to stay 50m away, and if you are in front of a whale it's 300m. In the video you can see another whale within 10-20m From other kayaks. So they were just to close to them.  The whales sometimes use breaching to clear the water around them, and if there was a young whale, it could of been to clear the area around the young whale. So always remember to keep a safe distance for your safety and the whales comfort. And enjoy what you see safely. |
