PA-12 http://www.hobiecat.com/mirage/mirage-p ... -12/specs/ PA-14 http://www.hobiecat.com/mirage/mirage-p ... -14/specs/ Only other paperwork would be the "MSO"....Manufacturer's Statement of Origin that will contain the serial number of the PA....need one for each kayak. You need to request this from your dealer as it will be mailed to you from Hobie......this is the legal title for the kayak. |

Get the MSO. I decided to register my boat and needed that form to complete that process. I was surprised that the MSO isn't given without asking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Once submitted, should we expect anything in return? ie acknowledgement of receipt? I submitted everything online & never heard back? Normal? |

The MSO is the ownership document assigned by us to the dealer. They would then sign it over to you to use at your regional registration authority if needed. Many places do not register kayaks, so not all dealers get their MSOs. MSOs are delivered to dealers accounts electronically. They just have to download them these days. Warranty registration has nothing to do with an MSO and does not trigger any return item to the owner. It just adds your data to our system for possible use in case of a recall or claim. |

Is the Mirage cassette included or any rail attachments? Paddle? Somewhere I saw a grommet kit for wiring plugs too. Included? None of this mentioned in the spec page. At another shop, I saw some carbon paddles. They looked great until I saw the price. Does the certificate show sales tax payment as well. In Massachusetts, 14' or greater requires a title. Is the COA generally considered an acceptable substitute? Thanks |

What about when we purchase kayaks second hand? Never got any MSOs (state that I live in doesn't require them to be registered thankfully). |

MSOs are only between the manufacturer and the dealer typically. Once to consumer level a registration / "Pink Slip" or bill of sale would be the document provided by the dealer to consumer. The MSO can be used by the original buyer to register. |

Thanks for the help. My wife and now each have our own PAs. MSOs were printed up on the spot. I think we're missing the H bar rod holders. No big deal. We'll get it sorted out. A couple more questions. What is the kickstand? Dealer told me about a new electric motor that will be in the $1000 range. Is that true? Is a bilge pump recommended? |

The kickstand has to do with the seat.....look in your owners manual...it shows this feature/adjustment/position. I carry a hand operated bilge pump "just in case".....about $20 and cheap if you ever need it. Welcome to the PA Club! |

Quote: Dealer told me about a new electric motor that will be in the $1000 range. Is that true? $1,219 for the MotorGuide Xi5 trolling motor. Fresh or salt versions. GPS and works with newer fishfinders for controlling the motor speed and direction. Really cool stuff. Goes to way points, hold positions, follows tracks set on a plotter. |

Thanks for all the help. Both boats came with one h bar attachment, the cup holder. One of the kayaks, the PA12, was still in the factory shipping wrap. There are what look like adapters for smaller rods in the rod holders. I really like the integrated design and technology of the Torquedoo, but the price point is too high. A chair reachable motor mount for generic trolling motors would be a welcomed upgrade. |
