Post subject:  2016 Revo 11 - Drain installed backwards??

Hi,
Just got my new kayak and I noticed that the cockpit was not draining when I pulled and cleated the drain cord and pedaled at a brisk pace. I did notice that I would drain (slowly) if I just sat still in the middle of the lake and let it drain.

This morning I looked under the Revo to look at the drain system. I think it's installed backwards and would like some verification.

1st - this 2016 Revo 11 was bought at an authorized dealer and came out of the white hobie packing material - this was brand new. If I recall, they only thing they assembled was the seat. But maybe they attached the drain system while I was doing other stuff.

I noticed in the instructions, this diagram clearly showing water exiting behind me!

But if you look at mine, the opening is facing the bow, which can explain why nothing drains as I move forward, but DOES slowly drain when I'm stationary.

I didn't see this being discussed on the forums, but am I right? is this installed backwards? And if so, is this something I can just reverse? It looks simple with 2 screws, but I didn't want bolts and washers dropping out into the hull giving me a bigger problem then I originally had.

thanks!

My 2016 Revo 11 has it installed with the opening facing the stern. I'll try to post a picture tonight.

Thanks YY - your post is a confirmation that mine's obviously on backwards :o
I'd love to see the picture.

I suppose the question now, from anyone or mmiller, is that if this is a 5 min job I can do, or is there some weird reason why this is more difficult than it appears (glues / adhesives). I bought the revo 1.5 hrs away, and my closest dealer is 30min away!

thanks

Just pedal backwards. ;)
Just kidding, shouldn't be more than a couple minute job to unscrew flip around and re-screw it in correctly. A few folks on the forum have even removed them completely and left them off.

Just unscrew the fitting and flip it around - it will have some tension on it from the bungee going up through the scupper - but should be a 1 minute fix. Sorry for the assembly error, that shouldn't happen.

thank you everyone... done and done. Looking forward to my next, somewhat less-wet, kayak outing!
