Hi Guys,
I just purchased the Hobie H-Rail Bolt On Kit 9" for my Outback. What size drill bit should be used to install this? I was looking for a youtube Video or some PDf instructions from Hobie. Hobie is good for posting things like this but I didnt find anything. Thanks!

The provided screws are 1/4-20, so a 1/4 inch bit should do it.

Thanks mmiller for the quick reply. I wanted to be sure before I put holes in my new outback LE. Can't wait to install.

can you post picture after you install it. Would like to see how it is since I'm looking at this. Thanks.

To prevent leaks I use a drill two sizes smaller than the screw. The screw then becomes a 'tap' which cuts it's own threads into the plastic, making for a water tight seal.

Good advice. I will definitely look at this as an option when installing.
