I am thinking about buying a kayak to do fishing on. I live in South Florida and will mostly be fishing offshore, but I will occasionally fishing in small lakes or ponds for Largemouth Bass. Pulling it around is not a big problem I will probably buy a trailer. I just mainly want stability. Obviously the Pro angler is better, but is it worth the extra $1,000? I am 5'9 and weigh 140 pounds so I am really not a big dude. Please let me know what you think!!! Also If you have any pictures of how you set yours up for offshore fishing. Thank you sooo much!! |

I have owned both. I have now downsized into a Revo 13 because that is best for me. The outback is a nice stable boat. Tons of hull slap when in the chop. Some guys claim that you can stand and fish in it. Not me. Nice fishing platform and plenty of mounting space. The PA 14 has space for days. Easy to stand in and fish. Can bring everything you own and not worry about weight limits. However, really need to trailer. IMHO not a car topper. Some guys do, but I wouldn't. Like Ddwineguy, I first owned an Outback for 3 years and then bought a PA-14 3 years ago....IMHO a trailer is a must, but totally worth the extra room and comfort....very stable and easy to move on the water. The cost difference between the Outback and PA-14 is "worth the upgrade"..... You could consider the PA-12, but the price difference favors the PA-14. |
