We are heading to TX, and are renting a golf cart. I was thinking that I might tow my kayak on the cart behind the golf cart. Anyone try that?

Go for it. I used to pull my Revo 13 to the ocean on my bike w/ kayak scupper cart. Biggest problem will be for you is holding the front toggle handle up. How you going to do that unless riding in the back of the golf cart? Or can you do it from inside driving?
If you can figure out how to do that then your golden, just keep your speed to a minimum.

I wouldn't. It sounds like a good way to crack your hull in your scupper holes. Imagine hitting a rock or a bump and bouncing the kayak and the cart droops a bit but doesn't seat fully, that would create dangerous stress on the scupper holes which in a rotomolded boat is the weak point.

I pull my PA from the water to my campsite to charge up or to the trailer with a Yamaha Zuma scooter, it works great then I can load and unload without backing the boat trailer up with my motorhome. I just use a snap clip from the front handle to the rack on the scooter.
