Post subject:  Steering Handle

I've got a Hobie Mirage Outback that is a few years old. The steering handle popped off the other day. I've tried to reattach it, but each time I tighten the screw the brass fitting (which houses the screw) begins backing out or eventually pops back out. Am I missing something about how the brass fitting stays in place (it looks like a simple pressure fit) or do I simply need a new handle?

We changed the steering handle style in 2011. Older versions could fail in that way if the set screw is over tightened. You need a new handle unless you are able to epoxy the brass back into the handle.
