Anyone use the Little Giant trailer to haul 4 kayaks? For loading Kayaks: Crossbars - Vantech (M1019)installed on C-Channel (500lb capacity 72") 4 J-Bars (Malone?) Kayaks would be Sport or Outback/possibly Slayer 10 (am I allowed to say that here ![]() Planning on using for storage as well. In addition to storing Kayaks we would have almost 60cf to haul camping gear, one of the main reasons we went this route. Let me know if this seems reasonable or if I am missing something. Have not pulled the trigger on the J-Bars yet, but have the trailer with crossbars on the way. Thanks Gabe |

Did you check to see if your tongue length was long enough for the boats? Remember what happens when you turn tilt. I wonder about the stability of having 4 boats on top with no gear below. That may never happen. Just changes the center of gravity. If you want it for storage also then you could consider this type of rack design where you can have the boats on the gunwales. http://www.redtrailers.com/ShowItem.asp?id=SJ8552B |

Reduces tongue weight capacity to 50%, but empty we are talking about right around 50lbs, loaded maybe 100. Stability if why I opted for roof rack just above trailer side vs going with two layers which would put the top kayak at 60 inches or so. Trailer weights 420lbs and kayaks are total of 240 if I get sports or propel 10. No gear below will probably only happen on shorter trips when we go to Tempe town lake or Bartlett lake which are 30min or an hour. Either way good point, will probably come up with something I can throw in the back to hold kayak gear to weight the trailer down when we are not hauling camping gear. Appreciate the feedback and the ideas. |
