Post subject:  Torqeedo Props - Evolve vs. Ultralight 403

This was our first season with an Evolve 2 and it was used in the rear Mirage drivewell of an Oasis. I think next season we will try it out with the rudder mount to enable simultaneous use of 2 Mirage drives with the motor to extend range. Which got me thinking about propellors... On the powerboats I have owned prop selection was a science to optimize load, time to plane, acceleration, top speed, and economy. And I sometimes changed props for a particular trip or activity for better performance in the desired dimension. I realize most of that is a lot less important in a displacement hull kayak going 5 mph. But it does beg the question...

The Evolve propellor has a narrower width, likely needed to fit easily through the drive well and maybe also prevent damage when raising a rudder-mount Evolve. The 403 propellor is wider and more of a weedless / low tip vortex style.

403: http://www.torqeedo.com/us/en-us/produc ... ropeller-1

Is there any tangible benefit to one prop over the other in terms of performance or efficiency?
