Post subject:  Storage of 2015 Hobie Oasis in Desert Climate

Hello all! I am moving this summer (2017) from New Jersey to New Mexico. Needless to say I probably won't get much use of my Hobie while I'm there (the nearest lake is 1 1/2 hours away). However, what's the best way to long-term store a Hobie in this new environment? Or should I accept this fate and sell it before I leave New Jersey? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks...Rick

Upside-down, resting on the top of the gunnels is best. This is the thickest part of the kayak and won't deform in high heat. The main things to NOT DO are: storing the kayak right side up on crossbars, storing on a hoist with thin straps (less than 2" wide), storing on it's side or with a plug-in cart installed. All of the "do not" methods are likely to cause hull deformities in heat.
