My left crank / pedal assy broke yesterday! Warning for all you with an older Mirage Drive, it will be a much "longer" ride back home when you have to use the paddle. And you will get no warning just before it breaks. It just breaks under normal use. Have read in this forum that after 2014 this is not longer an issue. The newer cranks are better. My Adventure Island is from 2012. I allways have some spare parts onboard but I have trusted the cranks. My mistake! I would like to replace both the old cranks / pedal assy, left and right. What are the correct part numbers for the newer, enhanced cranks that does not break so easily? best regards thomas |

Your 2012 AI has the V2 Mirage Drive and the currently listed, left crank assy P/N is 81221001 and the right crank assy P/N is 81222001. See this link for reference https://static.hobiecat.com/digital_ass ... 1494213952 |

Thanks Dr.SteelheadCatcher! A question for Hobie staff: Is this part number the "new enhanced", more reliable crank? If part number is not changed, I can see a risk that I will get the old "not so good" crank. As I live i Sweden parts will be ordered from Netherland and they maybe just send some old stuff they have in store. My order goes via Swedish dealer, I will not have any direct contact with Hobie Europe. Is there a way for me to see/check that I get the right, "new" crank? best regards thomas |
