Post subject:  Help ID year of my Mirage Outback
I'm new kayak fishing and the Hobie brand but have heard nothing but reviews and watched a lot of youtube videos on them. Anyways i found a use Mirage Outback and went and picked it up last night. The guy wasn't sure what year it was or really anything abt it, a friend gave it to him when he moved out of state. The Mirage chain has a link missing so i need replace that but other than that the kayak just needs a good cleaning and some handles. Here are some pictures any help identifying it would be great.

That is a very early vintage Outback. Older style Mirage cam locks, rudder, steering handles. The bottom is also very different from the modern ones.

I'd say maybe 2003 ish or so.

It probably still has an earlier V1 drive, replacement chains etc may be getting hard to find. Check for cracking to front of drive slot

Thanks for the help. It's 2002. I couldn't find the serial at first but used the dirt rubbing trick and was able to finally find it.
