Are other brands besides Lowrance and Hummingbird adaptable to the built-in transducer mount on the Outback hull?

For other brands aside from Lowrance and Humminbird, BerleyPro might have a mounting solution that adapts to Hobie kayaks. If you're thinking of going Humminbird over Lowrance, be aware that some transducers may not fit inside the cavity, and performance of Humminbird side imaging transducers may be compromised by housing them inside the cavity (don't have much experience with Humminbird side imaging on Hobies). I have a running list going if you have questions about the fit on most of Lowrance and Humminbird transducers on Hobies, and the customer service line at Humminbird should be able to answer questions on specific transducer dimensions if you need them.

Thanks. I'm giving the Hook 4 a serious look.

Do you know the difference between the 4x and the 4 Hook models?

Hook 4 has built-in gps and Hook 4x does not.
