I have about one inch of side to side slack in my 2017 Revo steering lines. In other words I can move the handle about an inch in either direction before the rudder responds. The Hobie info says the lines should not be over tightened.

Should my rudders response be immediate or is this amount of play in the lines acceptable.
Thanks. ~JOE~

I'd tighten them up. On my TI, the cables get slack when it gets cold. I think it's because the hull grows and shrinks a bit with the temperature.

With the rudder down, locked and pointed straight back, there should be no slack. Check for equal deflection by the steering control and tighten on the side that has less deflection. Temperature definitely plays a part n rudder slack, so it's a good idea to check this again in spring, etc. A loose rudder will not track well, but a taut rudder will not wander! 8)
