I recently questioned the softness of the Hobie plastic. I was told the softer plastic prevents hull cracks. Apparently not! Today I found a crack in my hull. This is a 2014 hull purchased in March of 2015. How common are these cracks? |

Hey Kross, curious to see what Hobie will do for you. Seems any posts that aren't positive disappear or never show up. Plenty to learn and improve if comments, complaints and suggestions wouldnt vaporize. |

I recall those pins on my old '05 Outback and I recall that I started getting some minor water intrusion in that area after about a decade of use. I think it was a known issue. I don't think that I have those pins on my newer models. I've never had more than a cup of water in my current '14 Outback and I go out in some rough stuff; the only time I ever get water inside is from the front hatch when I'm plowing through waves. I'm headed over the coast later today; I'll take a look to see if I can determine the area that you are referring to. |

But we build a LOT of kayaks. There are bound to be some issues and that is why we have a strong warranty policy and are liberal with it. Just get a claim in thru a dealer. Our warranty guys will review it... regardless of age... even if second hand. |

In keeping with the facts you deleted my post for calling this guy out for what he is doing. In the OTHER post he started where he bashed Hobie and the intelligence of other board members you deleted that also. But in this day of censorship and snowflakes I guess thats the new norm. |

I have tried posting on a few different topics and my posts never got posted. I would get a message saying my posts would have to be reviewed by a moderator. I was surprised to see my post show up on this thread. |

First two get reviewed to help prevent porn and the like from being posted. I spend a lot of time deleting spam users to keep the forum clean. They are a pain. I have had (software) issues when making a post and submitting... and nothing happens. I now preview each one then post. I have already brought it to Ramsey Outdoor in Ramsey and they verified the damage. They are submitting a claim. I'll let you folks know what happens with Hobie. |

This particular thread is about hull cracking and warranty handling. If you have something to add on the topic, please do. If you don't, let's at least keep it civil. Saying you have a problem with a kayak isn't bashing. It is factual. Maybe someone can open a forum just for arguments and name calling. But this isn't it. |

They need to check with the warehouse on Monday (closed on Fridays), but there appears to be a couple of hulls there that are the old seat type. They will get back to the dealer. |
