For MD180 v2 mast replacement...
1) Is it necessary to use blue loctite (upon removing old mast I did not see any residue so thought maybe not necessary any longer)?
2) bottom end of mast (fin tip area) has adjustable allen bolthead so what is bolt for and how far out should it be?
3) I used that allen bolthead to tighten mast (then used wrench to make it extra snug) and then backed bolt out a bit to match old mast...is that a bad idea?

fyi to any other novices like me, how-to videos use a nice straight mast which is easy to turn out or in but once bent (badly) its a lot harder to remove by torque bottom and have it translate to the mast head.

Loc Tite would be a good idea.

Masts have a flat machined into them for a wrench.

The Allen screw should be all the way in unless you want to add resistance to the fin. I like them all the way in. Some like a bit of resistance or better top end performance by unscrewing them a bit. This has the effect of tightening the fin at the clew. Or like sheeting in on a sail.
