Hi. I'm picking up my new Compass next week. I want some sort of deck mat to prevent my dog from slipping. The Hobie mat kit is almost $200 CND. Wondering if it's worth the price or if anyone has any effective, yet less expensive DIY solutions.

Thanks!

You could try yoga mat. It's pretty good and water proof but I have discovered that if you put it where your feet will rub a lot, it will wear out fast. I have some on my compass but have since taken it out of the drive well area. Just put some silicone under it and let it dry. Works to muffle sounds too. For your dog, it should work well and can be had for little expense.
