Post subject:  Upgrade of Mirage 180 from 2017
Hi, there!

I am about (if everything goes well) to buy a second-hand Oasis from 2017. It seems to be in very good condition. The mirage drives are 180, with standard fins. Forgive my ignorance, but I think there are v1 and v2 versions for that drive. In the worst case scenario, if they are v1, can they be upgraded in any way? Can I still add turbo fins? Can I upgrade to v2? I think I might have got some of these terms wrong. I just want to know if it is possible to improve the drives. I am based in Europe, not the US.

Yes, there is a "v-2" upgrade for the MD 180. The original fins look like this:

The new fins look like this:

I believe the V-2 version is free if you don't already have it (at least here in the USA). The upgrade includes new fins, masts and booms.

You can upgrade to Turbos also. That is not free. You would order a Turbo kit (masts and fins) and just replace your original V-2 STs with your new V-2 kit. 8)
