I need help! Last night travelling home with my hobie PA17T in tow on my EZ trailer this happened. The trailer nuts that hold the trailer loosened and the trailer came apart. It was 4 am in the morning. I saw sparks in the mirror and pulled over. The trailer was in two parts and my Hobe had been on its side dragging down the road. The side of the hobie is peeled off down to the inner wall. The H rail is almost into. The seat arm rests are all but rubbed into also. Can this be repaired? The trailer is fine and just needs to be rewired. Can I salvage the hobie?

These stories make me glad that I put an insurance policy on my kayak: specific boat insurance on trailer, boat and accessories.

Maybe your auto insurance will help, I would call my insurance agent. My insurance agent told me that "MY" auto insurance would cover up to a certain amount, but if I wanted full coverage on the whole boat that I would need a separate policy.

It's worth a phone call. Good luck.

If I'm reading your description correctly, sounds like it's un-repairable. Maybe post some pictures?

There's no hope. Called Hobie dealer and sent pics to them. They were to send to Factory. Haven't heard back. Called insurance and they like my premium payment each month but they don't cover the hobie on my truck policy. Education always cost and I just made a tuition payment. Got a separate policy on my UTV. Thanks for the insight and its back to the drawing board.
