I recently completed a 106 mile trip in my Revo 13 on Lake Roosevelt in Washington. Pulled up onto a sandy beach with drive still installed, and fins fully up against the hull in flat position. After coming off the beach, tried to go into reverse, would not pivot. when I pull on the reverse cable, it doesn't budge. Other than that, drive works perfectly. Ideas? |

Today I worked on the drive. Used a silicone lubricant to saturate moving parts, then used the hose to rinse it out well. Finally, I blew those areas out with compressed air. And voila! It worked freely. I believe, after this exercise, that some dirt and sand got jammed into the system and kept the 180 system from pivoting. From now on, I will pull the drive out of the boat before beaching! Lesson learned. |

Thanks for the post. I have the Mirage GT drive and it's apparently more resistant to this type of use as I haven't had any issues with mine (knock on wood) but I have heard it's best to avoid getting the 180 drives in sand or even in waters with a lot of silt. |
