Can anyone tell me if Outback sn #CCMA5685404 (hard to read for sure)needs the drive well upgrade kit? If it does how do I get it? Thanks |

If you have registered the hull with Hobie and it falls within the range needing the reinforcement, Hobie should have already sent the kit to you. PM Matt and ask. |

Matt I contacted my dealer here in Minnesota and they told me 2004 didn't need it. Now what. |

They are wrong. You can ask them to read the information again... or contact us for the correct information. Your serial number is within the range, simple as that. Which dealer? So, we can contact them. |

Matt I received the kit today. Thank you for the prompt response. In placing the fiberglass reinforcement it fits when pushed on, but springs back about 1/8-1/4" when released. Should I rig a brace to hold it up tight while it hardens or is it expected to have that gap? Thanks |

Use lots of the goop! With the Hobie supplied fiberglass piece at the bottom, I reinforced the entire column using about a 5-inch length of thin-wall 1-1/4 PVC. I cut out about a half-inch section, making a slot cut out from top to bottom. The thin-wall flexes and the slot snaps right around the column. Probably overkill...but there was a much more "solid" feel after the reinforcement. Good luck! |
