Is there, or will there, be a sailing rudder available for the Passport? I think lighter paddlers don't allow the hull to sink deep enough for this small rudder to work effectively. The kayak seems to have a delayed steering input and tends to drift more than turn, similar to the feel of a Sport vs. a Revo that seems to almost carve at times. |

Nothing yet. May be in a future model. |

I switched out the stock rudder on my Passport for the SmartTrack system with the performance rudder. It's about 3-4 inches longer than the stock rudder and you can raise and deploy it from the seat with a single cord. I only had to make the bore slightly larger to fit the pin. (I had an extra stock rudder complete assembly to use, but you could just buy the mount piece that actually attaches to the Passport with the 2 screws, top and bottom). |
