Post subject:  Kayak residential docking system options

I'm seeking some ideas on what to use for my Hobie Pro Angler 17T. I live on the bay on the east coast - so corrosion can be bad. I currently leave my kayak in the water tied off onto my dock and take it out periodically and clean it. I'd like to have a dock system that works so the bottom of the kayak doesn't become a mess and can be easily cleaned each time I venture back from fishing.

I'm seeking any dock type systems that people like to use and can share some insight and hopefully images of docking systems they use for easy entry and exit and of course to keep the kayak clean.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Lance

Not sure if your conditions would allow, but we live on a bay off of Lake Ontario and the water is shallow enough at the shoreline to use a jet ski hoist to store our Hobie 16’ Adventure. Works great other than having to adjust the leg height occasionally to adapt to the lake fluctuations. Maybe you could use a floating jet ski dock if wave conditions allow...probably have to have a hand crank to pull your PA onto the dock.

I viewed a video taken at a watersports business which had a low-angle carpeted ramp attached to the side of its dock so customers could easily get kayaks into and out of the water. Racelance could add such a ramp to their dock, and could use it to pull the 17T out of the water and up into a storage cradle. The cradle could be enclosed like a minature boathouse to protect the kayak from sun and theft.
