We stay frequently at Saint Joe Beach, Indian Pass, and Carrabelle. And we camped a couple times at the state park on the east end of SGI. This is our first time staying on the west end of SGI. My Navionics chart shows an almost 60 ft deep and quite narrow 1/2 mile long trench on the bayside of Little Saint George Island west of horseshoe cove and just above marker “10”. Is this for real? Maybe a blue hole (sink hole)? Oddly, it does not show at all in my Garmin chart. Peter |

Explored the bay side of Little Saint George Island on my Oasis today. The Navionics chart is bunk - this area is deeper than the surrounding bay but I recorded a maximum depth of 18 feet, as shown in my Garmin charts. Journey was worth it though as I had several encounters with dolphins, manatees, rays, and large schools of baitfish. Peter |
