Post subject:  Getting an overturned Revo 13 back upright

Hi all,

Has anyone else found this difficult? Does anyone have any helpful tips beyond what it says in Hobie's own advice?

The instruction is to grab the scupper or the Mirage drive to pull the kayak back upright. I found that neither seems to give me enough leverage. Am I missing something about this process? Does anyone have a different way to do this?

Background: yesterday I tried getting back in after hopping off, following the advice to get horizontal in the water and then kick to get myself where I could grab the gray carry handle on the opposite side, then kick again to get myself pretty much centered across the kayak, at which point it was easy to rotate my body and get back in the seat.

But then I thought what if the reason I end up swimming is that the kayak has capsized? So I jumped in the water and rolled my kayak upside down, then tried to get it back right-side-up. Couldn't do it. Had to swim it to shallow water where I could stand up. By that time there was a lot of water in it.

Thanks everyone!

I bought one of these several years ago or you could make one yourself

here is what I do for my 2019 Outback- I grab the transducer Guardian thing, kick up over the top and grab the paddle holder bungie on the other side, then slide back pulling the kayak towards me, I think this might work good for a Revo also, Outback is 34" wide, Revo12 is 28.5" wide.

2m55s is where I do the 'pull it to me roll'.
