Post subject:  Rudder line tension for twist and stow rudder on Revo 13

I keep finding info and videos on rudder line tension adjustment for newer Outbacks and PA12/14s but can't find anything for the twist and stow on the older Outback and current Revos. Is there tension adjustment for this rudder? Or is it a direct tie? I've got 2" of slack I need to take up. And in terms of needed slack, how much should I have in the tiller to account for expansion?

thanks!

This Hobie link will show how to change the rudder lines and adjust the rudder for centering.

Since the rudder lines will tighten up on a warm/hot day, it's best to adjust the line tension on a warm day. It won't leave 2" of slack on a cooler day.
Maybe the previous owner replaced the rudder lines and never performed the final tension adjustment.

Since the earlier Hobie Mirage kayaks did not have a "Boa" to adjust the rudder line tension as the hull expands and contracts, you need to live with the fact the rudder will have a small amount of slop.

Thanks for the link to that, at least it gives a diagram. I think I'm going to figure out a way to incorporate some rudder line adjusters from other kayak manufacturers.
