Hello!

I bought a used Hobie Mirage Sport recently and this week needed to repair the a turn line - that's done without issue. But, when I had it on the table I noticed that the top of the rudder, when deployed and sitting tight in the cleat, hits the back of the kayak when it is straight back. The rudder seems like it would not sit straight back in the water and would catch when turning either direction past center if it were locked into the cleat.

Before I changed the turn line I had it in the water a few times without noticing a problem but I may not have had it locked in the cleat.

Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Maybe file off the part that is contacting the transom?
