I am trying to buy a kayak. Found a post online and the kayak is about 3 hours away from me. The deck looks good . But the hull , the stern end looks sketchy. The owner told me he is not the first owner, he only has had this kayak for about 3 months. He is selling it because kayaking is not "his thing". Can the hull be fixed? Even though he claims there is no leak. Thank you |

DP 8010 would stick. There are a number of repair topics in these forums that talk about that and other adhesives. |

Looks like the previous owner tried to do plastic welding to fix a leak there. Is it a good idea to do more plastic welding on top of all these? Or shall I use some tool to get rid of whatever they put on there and re-do plastic welding myself? Thank you . |

Run, don’t walk, away from that hull. Looks like there have already been at least 2 repair attempts and I am unsure what even that screw is doing there. If you want to spend time kayaking, and not learning how to redo repairs, look for a hull without damage below the waterline. Peter |

I don't think i will buy this boat. Looks like too much work for me. I'm new to this. |

The screw is the bottom of the up/down line point for the original rudder. |
