Post subject: | 2009 Hobie Kayak Revolution - Twist-N-Stow Rudder Question |
Hello all. I have an older Hobie Mirage Drive Kayak. It is a revolution that I purchased new in 2009. Everything has worked fantastic - but I am having a rudder issue. When I take the Twist-N-Stow rudder assembly apart a few black plastic pieces dropped out - looks like a small plastic pin sheared off inside the rudder assembly. I See the two lines wrapping around the assembly and a small spring. I have searched parts and can not find a part number for that small plastic piece - anyone know what that is? Looks like the newer style of this doesn't have it - or at least they don't show it on a parts list. Any idea if I can put a 81394001 (Rudder assy) on my 2009? Looks the same. Seems like a lot to spend when really I just need that plastic pin. Thanks in advance. Scott |

Just remove the small pins and springs. That concept was abandoned very shortly after its introduction. That was a locking system to hold the rudder down. Now we just use the down control line in a cleat. Do You have the cleats and lines for up/down? You should be all set if you do. |
