Post subject:  Tear in my Turbos
Recently on a fishing trip a good size Striper dove under my Rig and tangled in my fins. Note to self....make sure drive is up when landing big fish. Anyway, the line cut through the fins in a couple places. The cuts are very thin but deep, but not all the way to where the grey rubber is. I was thinking I could sew them with some braided fishing line or just leave it. Not sure how much this would impact performance or if it woudl worsen.

I think you can buy buy a single replacment fin.. for about $25. Im not sure what the part number is but someone on the board here might know.
Then I would use some type of strong "Marine Grade Goop" to repair the cuts in the old fin and use that fin until it wears out.

Hey QM,
Wow--that is kind of scary for us fishing types--mebbe you had better consider going back to mono instead of braid--or start targeting smaller fish! :D

I have almost gotten tangled up when a large redfish made a quick dive, but so far nothing big enough to do any damage. I don't know how compatible with the fin material it is, but there is a super adhesive that some use for yak applications called Lexel. Look into that, and always test these adhesives on a small area of the fin before going for a major repair.

I used some of the Loctite product for this purpose and it seems to have worked but only time on the water will tell. Thanks for the suggestion.

I run aground hard & tore mine. Used some of that stuff called "goop" from ace hardware store & fixed them good. still working to.
