Two days ago I received my new Outback. I inspected the kayak at the dealer however it was in the shade and not noticeable. On Sunday, while looking at how I wanted to rig it, I noticed in the glare the entire side from bow to stern has what appears to be scratches/scuffing. I understand scratches are going to happen but for $3740, I would think the imperfections and manufacturing processes would be minimal. In addition, there is a gouge in the front bottom of the drive well. It doesn't look like it is all the way thru (I checked with stiff fishing line to see if it was thru and thru but it does not appear to be). Do all Hobies come in with these "birth marks? |

have a pic? scuffing might happen pretty soon otherwise? I would be more concerned about the drive mount |

The molds are cast aluminum, so can get scratches as times. Maybe from sanding the mold. The "gouge" in the drivewell sounds like trimming they do to remove mold flashing (Plastic that seeps from the part line during molding). |
