Hobie is no longer selling the outhaul block for the Mirage drive that came with either my 2003 0r 2008 Outback. Since this part was replaced in 2005 I am sure that it is reasonable rare. It is basically a round plastic part that wraps around the drive shaft and has an extended end to insert a pin to hold the fin onto the shaft. First, thought. Could the Part 81050001 work to attach the flipper? If so, do any instructions exist as to how to disassemble the Mirage drive to attach this part? Second thought. Has anyone come up with a solution for purchasing a part that would work? I am skeptical of using a metal part. Third option. Does anyone have the necessary dimensions and specifications to have someone make this part on a 3D printer? Fourth thought. Do old Mirage units ever come up for sale that are basically trash that might have this part? |
