Post subject: | How to distinguish between mirage drives |
Hello everybody. I'm about to buy a second hand Revolution and I was wondering how I can distinguish a V1 drive from a V2 (and than the kayak having a nicer seat ![]() Also, did Hobie make structural improvements after the V2? I know we now have the kick up find and 180 but my thinking is: less moving parts means less stuff to break. However, if there have been made structural improvements on top of the functional ones I might go for one of the newer models. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

2015 gave us silky GT bearings (glide technology). I think the fins were anchored differently to the mast or whatever in V versions - can probably do a search here. Don't forget turbo fin availability. |

If you do an internet search for "hobie mirage drive differences", you will find some pretty good videos showing the versions. |
