I own a Hobie Revolution 16 since 2015 or so. Since then I had a broken MD mast for 3 times. The first two I coul relate to collisions with unseen under water objects... And logically it twice was the fore mast that broke. But today during the second day of my annual kayak camping trip the aft mast broke with a cracking sound ![]() |

I bent a 2015 turbo mast; maybe the longer turbo masts have more spring in them. It could have been the rear, which separates in latter part of stroke. Maybe move up to turbo or breakaway? I couldn't straighten mine, so ordered a replacement from ebay. To get the postage way down, I had the sender put it in a standard (priority mail?) box where to fit it had to go diagonal in two dimensions. This was quite mentally challenging for the seller ![]() |

Thanks for your reaction. I bought the boat with turbo fins. So I think there is no reliƫf there. |
