I'm wondering what techniques other people have tried for plugging old screw holes in kayak hulls. I have an Outback that I removed some hardware from and I've used silicone caulk in the past but without a backing it doesn't always hold well and doesn't look great. Has anybody tried plastic welding rods or anything else with better success? |

One really simple way to contend with small holes is to simply put a bolt or self tapper into it, with a little bit of silicone for good measure. It may just end up looking like its supposed to be there anyway, and doing this isn;t just easier than welding, its usually tidier as well. If you can get away with it, this is a pretty simple workaround |
