Post subject:  Mirage Drives - are they interchangeable?

I have an Itrek 11 which keeps getting punctures, so I'm giving up and buying a Passport 10.5. Question; will my existing Mirage drive, seat and paddles fit the Passport?

If so, I hope to buy a Passport minus these items and use my existing Mirage drive, seat and paddles

Any advice would be appreciated

The only "fit issue" I can recall is several years ago Hobie added a protrusion/centering piece molded onto both ends of the Mirage drive.
I think Hobie kayaks built prior to maybe 2012 would not accept the newer designed Mirage Drive unless the protrusions were cut off and then it would drop into the drive well.

If I were in your position, I would still order the "complete" Passport kayak and save your current Mirage drive as a spare. It won't lose value over time and if something broke, you still have a fall back Mirage drive to keep you from suffering any down time.

I don't have a clue about the seat fitting both kayaks.

The inflatable drives omit those guide pins, so should fit anywhere. You may find your dealer not thrilled about omitting parts, and keeping them for distress sales. It's strange about punctures; I've never had one with about a dozen inflatables over about a decade. They seem avoidable except for seam leaks due to ageing.
