I have an older Oasis Tandem and wondering what an average speed would be with two peddlers using turbo fins? I am planning a tour around Tahoe and trying to gauge travel distance per day. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I've done a number of day excursions but never paid attention to my MPH. TIA, Scott |

I can't quite answer your question, but here is "any input." I'm in a 10' single Hobie with mirage drive, but not turbo fins. I routinely travel 2 knots with ease and can go 4 knots if I need to. I think the answer will depend on waves, wind, and the endurance of the peddlers. |

My wife and I, in our early 60s, can easily maintain 3.5 - 3.8 mph for several hours in our Oasis with turbo fins. I recently took a younger fit person on an aggressive 60 minute lake loop where we averaged 4.7 mph. Average speeds are taken from a Garmin chartplotter. Peter |
