Post subject:  2 Passport Kayaks with plastic delamination

Hello, we bought 2 Passport kayaks in 2021 and when we took our maiden voyage this past week. During the trip we ended up getting what felt like fiberglass embedded in in our hands using the plastic steering handle. Then my wife crossed her leg and ended up with fiber in her leg from rubbing against the plastic hatch lid. All of the black plastic is very sparkly as if it is delaminating or breaking down!?! Our rep contacted Hobie but they told him they have only seen it a few times where people leave the kayaks out & exposed to the sun every day. I'd love to turn my kayaks over but we can't beach them where we are located. I do lift them out of the water with a old modified jet ski lift but there is no way to attach a canopy to shade them.
We have very good friends who are long time Hobie owners and they have never had this issue with theirs. Has anyone else had an issue similar to this? I was told to try using a brillo pad but if that doesn't work then they told me the only other option is to replace all the exposed black plastic parts at my cost. I'd hate to have to do that (x's 2 since we own two) so I am looking for ideas of fixing versus replacing!
Thanks...
