Hi, I am looking for a way to going kayaking with my 6 month old baby. I have a Hobie outfitter. Is there anyone who has done it?

Not sure how safe this would be...maybe in very calm waters like a pond or lake? I want to take my dog out on my kayak and Im scared they might drown if I capsize!

It would be flat water I would be taking my son on and with a baby life jacket. I feel the kayak is stable enough to take him on, just trying to find out ways to take him safely and still use the dual mirage drive units.

I think it was posted on here or KFS where someone attached a seat in the rear cargo area...

I have seen the pictures of a traditional seat in the cargo area and that would be fine for a child, but I need my baby in front so I can keep my eyes on him. The shop has said that I can either hold him in front or even use a baby sling to keep him in front. He feels that the stability is so good, there is no chance of tipping over, I could even get the Side Kick Ama kit to ensure stability.

Anyone else with any other thoughts out there?

I'm 15, and have gone out once on my AI with my 9-year old cousin, and we did fine, except that she kept on getting her hair caught in the pulleys... i kind of wish i could have tipped over (but that's the non-existant big brother side of me)...

anyways, it was alot of fun...
