Hi, Finally I got the chance to go fising for a whole week. While I was out my kayak started getting water in it. Usually there is not a lot. I kept bailing and finally made it back to shore. The guys I was fishing with told me to put some water in it and see if I could see where the leak was. The crack/leak is by a little plastic plug in front of where the dirve goes in. It looks like the stress crack that is made when a screw is tightened too tight in wood. It was probably there all along but just spread far enough to let in water. The guys told me to put a message on this message board and someone named Matt would tell me what to do. They said that it was probably covered under warantee. I would take it to my dealer but I think he is closed for november. This is a pictue of the crack: One shows the water drop leaking through. ![]() This shows the crack better. It looks like the plastic thingee is too tight and caused the crack. I'm not sure what the plastic thingee is. ![]() |

I always will suggest... see your dealer first to file a claim, but I understand that your dealer may be closed? So, my interpetation of the issue shown here is that the hull will get replaced. Seems to be a brittle plaistic issue. You can try to contact your dealer, wait for their return or contact another dealer to get this handled, but in any case, all warranties must be processed through an authorized dealer. |
