last summer we went to a campground and had loads of fun renting kayaks on the lake...I have been thinking about getting one and came across a hobie outfitter without the paddles and gear drives, just the hull, in great condition. my question is, if anyone has the time to answer, what is just the hull worth, and is it worth it to use that boat without the gear drives or was it meant to use only with them. I cant see myself spending $1,000 to get new drives, so at what price is it a "good buy". I will use it with my wife or either of my children and maybe even do a little fishing from it someday, really just recreational. Thanks for any and all advice. Happy Holidays. |

i'd say stripped down like you sail, assuming the seats are there, about 500 bucks. Keep your eyes on e-bay with the newer style drives out people may be upgrading, not that there is any reason to. |
