So ive got the Cuda 250 in now. Loving it no end, great device. I also added a 4 foot cast net, a bait bucket, a minnow trap (all of which fit nicely in the front hatch when not in use) and a 25 qt Igloo marine cooler. About the cooler...It fits, if just barely. I know others use this, how do you tie it down best? so far ive just been brining the bungies over the corners. Also it makes me sit up a lot straighter, and when i lean back, the cooler sorta pops up on the front edge a little bit. I never feel that its unstable or going to fall out, and it pushes back down easily, just something I noted. Is there a better cooler choice for storing drinks / fish I plan to eat? A stringer is not an option here as it makes you a human cork for shark or gators Tomorrow Im picking up the sailing rudder, two life handles (SWEET) and the ST Turbo Fin set. Kinda leary about the fin lengths on the turbos, might mean I have to use that ugly black stick on the side of my kayak more often. Still lovin the Revo life. |

Side note, regarding weight capacity. Is 350# capacity with nothing attached to the kayak, ie, not even the drive? im losing weight with all this peddling, so every # lost is another # gained, hehe, but still curious. |

I'm looking for a cooler as well. I have the same as yours but mine don't even fit it (don't know how you put it in). I have upgrade the rudder to sailing rudder, I'm loving it. |

Hmm, might is a super tight fit, but it fits in at the very front of the Revo aft well. The marine igloo 25 qt. It does "pop up" if i lean back on it with the seat but the bungies hold it down and an elbow forces it back down when needed. |

I had an old boogie board that I cut and shaped to fit in the forward section of the tankwell and placed the 25qt Igloo cooler on top of that. Raising the cooler several inches provided for a perfect fit and I then secured the cooler to the kayak using the shackle/bungee setup that Apalach devised.
see foam pad underneath the cooler
see shackle. I have a bungee clip that I attach from the shackle to the kayak. |

I went with the 36 size and turned it the other way. I use it like Apalach uses his. I put 3 or 4 frozen 16 oz water bottles in it along with a few unfrozen ones and a few other of the other things I like to carry. The cooler fills the back well and covers a few inches of the useless back hatch. I keep the water bottles in a plastic bag. If I catch a fish I want to take home i throw it in the cooler grab the plastic bag and put it on top of the fish. This works well because i only take home the occasional LARGE flounder that I accidentally catch while fishing for Reds. I will add a picture later. |
