Was so damn excited about my new sidekick ama's today.... They should come with a warning label like: "This product may cause brain damage or make you do things you normally wouldnt try." Wow are they stable! So much so that the wheels I had left under the yak when I put in where still there when I got back...doh! I just thought that the fact I was going about 2mph slower up and down the river was a combo of changing tide and drag from the AMA's. Now Im glad I found how why I was going so slow. I would hate to not want to use them all the time if they slowed me down. Was able to stand up with sail furled and use the mast as a balance point while rocking and rolling on the river, so cool. With no waves you could dance a jig with the AMA's in the down position. Now Im just worried about what other stupid things they may make me do that I normally wouldnt try....at least till the well nuts pop out. |

Now I will have to rethink putting mine on. I bought a set of Sidekicks last week and was planning to install tomorrow. But my best skill is thinking up dumb things to do. If these are going to encourage me that might not be good. |

The stability is nuts. In the high position they are like failsafes, ready to catch you. In the low position they make the Revo feel 2 feet wider than it is. Within 10 minutes of using them I lost all respect for capsizing, I was moving about without a care in the world. This will return to bite me in the butt later Im sure. |

I mounted the sidekick cross bar last week on my Revo behind the seat. I did get washers and nuts on the bolts. I had my nephew reach in through the back hatch. I used a 1/4" drive ratchet with a shallow socket. The lock nut went in the socket with the washer on top. I did use some sticky caulk to hold the washer. He was able to get it under the bolt and I screwed it on from the top. It wasn't that hard and we did all four in one try each. I just didn't like what I was hearing from those that used the well nuts. I haven't been out yet so I don't know if they will be in the way for paddling. Bruce |

The evil AMA sidekicks made me go out to the 4 NM reef last friday. I was the only guy out there in a boat that small, hehe. Peddled out and sailed back in, great trip |

I bought the SideKicks for my 05 Outback. Loved them. Got my Revolution and moved the mounting hardware to it before even putting the boat in the water once. Put the boat in the water and went for a five mile test ride to fish and see what the boat was like. I have NEVER attached the ama to the mount even once. Love my Revo! |

Never Owned a Hobie(Outback 08) till now and the AMA's was the first install I ever did on any yak....glad to hear they are great, thankx for the post......Steve |

Has anyone installed these on the Sport? I had heard there might be a problem with where to mount them. Would be happy to hear from anyone who has. |

Uh-oh--busted! But just to set the record straight, I only use the Sport when my wife is not along since she doesn't fish (uhh, right...). But I gotta admit that I really like the Sport because of its light weight, maneuverability, and Outback-style gunnel trays for fishing.
