Hey folks, I'm currently doing a restoration job on my ancient Hobie 16 trailer. One important item I'm currently missing is the mast rest, which attaches to the top of a mount on the front of the trailer. If anyone can identify just exactly who manufacturers a Hobie 14 to 18 mast rest which would fit into this mount, I would be incredibly appreciative. Thank you!! Photos of the mast rest slot: |

This might help: ![]() ![]() ![]() I've never seen a mast support like that - especially aluminum on a steel trailer. That support already has a crack in it. I'd replace the whole thing. It's not rocket surgery. |

Looks to be a home made stand. It probably had a bow stop stuffed into it. |

I'd be getting rid of that pretty quickly as it looks like aluminum extrusion and will not only rust quickly but i wouldn't trust it to hold a mast above my car. There are lots of great trailer shops these days that makes DIY setups as easy as using Lego for trailers. I'd get a new length or galvanized steel high enough to clear your car and add a yoke piece to the top. Then you can place clear tubing over this or just wrap it up with cloth/foam. |
